I was listening to a podcast called "Healthy Human Revolution Podcast". Dr.Laurie Marbas was interviewing Dr. Sadeghi on Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). SIBO is a condition where too many bacteria are present in the small intestine. SIBO can happen if you are eating an omnivorous diet or a plant-based diet. She recommends that your physician checks to see if you have a thyroid problems or diabetes. If not, a person can receive multiple courses of antibiotics and still have SIBO without addressing the underlying cause. She suggests to reduce saturated foods and increase fiber. She uses the "reverse elimination diet" to help her clients. What I am looking forward to is that her protocol "WILL BE PUT TO THE TEST" at the Physician Committee for Responsible Medicine. I will create a blog when I see the study.
