Give us some figgy pudding...and eat slowly!

The 20-minute rule with regards to food satiety was mentioned in an interview with Dr. Z. Andrews in The Huffington Post. It takes at least 20 minutes for your brain to register that your stomach is full of food. I was unable to find the original study. However, I did find a study of people with Type 2 Diabetes. It compared feelings of fullness in people with Type 2 Diabetes eating a meal over a 30-minute timeframe or five-minute timeframe. The 30-minute group had greater feelings of fullness.
